What Next?

You have read about my history and perhaps it sounds familiar or totally different from what you have experienced. All of us are unique although we may have the same diagnosis we most definitely will have some symptoms which are different. This being said treatment will vary from person to person as well. I wish I could say there is some cookie cutter treatment which would cure all of us or at least help all our symptoms - but I can't. It depends on your symptoms, your degree of illness and what YOU and your Dr. feel is safe for your lifestyle. In my situation I have Sjogren's Disease, Psoriatic Arthritis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psoriatic_arthritis and Fibromyalgia all of these require different treatment - so my Dr. and I have to figure out what treatment plan will work for all 3. It can be really tricky - remember the Lyrica - I was seeing a different Dr. and it was used to treat my Fibromyalgia it was like a poison in my system - so sometimes it's a guessing game. I recommend that you do your own research, don't be afraid to ask hard questions (why do you feel that medication will work or what other options do I have) and if need be to get a second or third opinion. We are the consumers and should feel comfortable in our medical treatment - after all WE live with the symptoms and the illness!
